He was born July 29, 1952, at Bay City General Hospital in Bay City, MI. to the late George and Florence (Philopulos) Geno of Pinconning. Bob was raised in the Pinconning area for most of his life until joining the United States Navy. After serving his country for 8 years, Bob lived in South Carolina for some time. About 20 years ago he found his way up to the Alpena area where he met and married Gail Smalley on Dec. 4, 2010. Bob worked as a pipe fitter for the Local Union 85 for over 25 years until his retirement. After retirement, he became involved in a "hobby" which was diving. With his Navy background, it was no secret that Bob loved being in the water. His obsession with the water grew immensely once he began diving the Great Lakes. -Information gathered from Geno's Obituary Scope & Content: Box 1: contains vessel information copied from Bowling Green State University and photos collected.
