I Campus that a sorority is being formed which would take the place of last years' Organization of Women Students. When interviewed, Mrs. Buchner said, "No definite plans have been made, but the girls have asked me to be their advisor. I haven't given them a pos1t1ve answer yet, but I am in favor of a sorority and will give the girls any moral support they need." ROGER HARPER Roger Harper is one of several new teachers at ACC this year, teaching English Communications. A native of Michigan, he was born in Onieda Town- ~ (Continued on Page 4) KEITH TITUS IS NEW DRAMA COACH The . Alpena Civic Theatre, located at 401 River Street, is beginning its second year of pro- ductions under the direct- ion of Mr. Keith Titus. Mr. Titus is the speech instructor at Alpena Com- munity College. He also teaches classes in Theater Art and is the advisor of ACC's Radio-Drama Club. This is Mr. Titus' second year at ACC. He received his B.A. and M.A. at · Central Michigan Uni- versity after attending ACC for two years. The Civic Theatre is widely acclaimed for its professional standards. Last year's productions in- cluded such Broadway hits as, "Death Of A Sales- man", "Everybody Loves Opal", and "Take Her, She's Mine." The season opener, Oct- NEW PROGRAMS A number of new pro- grams have been added to the Alpena Community Col- lege curriculum this year. We are presently opera- ting a Library Technology program and the first two years of Occupational Therapy and Medical Tech- nology. Secretarial offer- ings have been modified. We have initiated an Auto- motive Service and Repair program and an Aviation Training - Pilot program. The 1967-68 catalog con- tains information on all of the programs except for the program of Aviation Training - Pilot. ober l r, t rough 4t , is titled, "Come Blow Your Horn." The role of Alan Baker, made familiar by Frank Sinatra, is played by Mike Coeppens, who is a disc jockey at Alpena' s radio station, WA TZ. Other members of cast include Mr. Mattison, ACC' s instructor, Mrs. Titus, English instructor, and Carol land, who is a member . the freshman class. Mr. and Mrs. Geoffrey D' Atri are the Resident Directors. The rest of the staff, "Resi- dent Advisors", are Kathy Beemer, Judy Oliver, sophomore at ACC, Pat McDaniel, Sop ho m o r e, Dave Sparks, sophomore and Joel Secrist, also a sophomore. The Resident Directors are in charge of the resi- dent hall and the Resident Advisors are the coun - selors for each assigned floor. The resident hall is con- structed as an "L" shaped building with a central on raQ~ ~) Student Center to Be Opened Soon The Student Center, a new addition to ACC' scam- pus, will be opening soon. Mr. Ritter, Head of Stu- dent Services, said, "We hope the Student Center will be opened by the last of September." The building, located on the corner of US 23 and Johnson St., will act as a dining hall, recreation cen- ter, bookstore and print- ing shop. The dining hall can seat about llO people. The reconstruction and decoration costs will be ap- proximately $125,000. In the recreation part of the building there will be a lounge with TV, ping-pong and pool tables, card tables and a snack bar. The Student Center's op- eration hours are tenta- tively scheduled to match the dorm's hours. Dennis Emerson
