Ml 49707 ACC's IM sports are rebounding February 21, 1996 Volume S Issue 4 BY MIKE GUNDERSON SPORTS EDITOR Intramurals are back, after a whole semester with- out them. To sign up, first thing you do is go down to East Campus, Besser Tech, NRC (Natural Resource Center), or Van Lare Hall where you will find sign up sheets. Second, fill out a ros- ter sheet. Each team is limited to 12 players per team. Lastly, turn the ros- ter sheets, into Bobby Allen, Head of Intramurals, and he will total the number of teams and set up a sched- ule. The only way to have a good program is to have support from the students and the faculty. Intramural sports this semester are basketball, vol- leyball, and back by popular demand, floor hockey. Bobby expects basketball to Photos by Deb Parks & Linda Simpson continue until the end of February. Playoffs will take Redsh1· rts place the week of February 19-22. Intramural basket- ball has a total of five teams. Hopefully when Jason Brecheisen volleyball and floor hockey Bud Meadows come around, that number will increase. As far as the games go, it's been a very upbeat setting, with quite a few people coming to watch the games. That is good to see. Teams participating are the Redshirts, the Rednecks, Bump in the Paint, Team Undai, and Chinese Con- nection. The standings thru week 3 are the Redshirts (5-0), Bump in The Paint (3-2), the Rednecks (3-3), Team Undai (2-3), and Chinese Connection (0-5). On January 25, the Redshirts went against Bump in The Paint and won (72-59). The second game was Chinese Connec- tion facing the Rednecks. The Rednecks won a close one (44-42). On January 30, the Rednecks played Team Undai. The Rednecks were once again victorious win- ning (51-33). The second game featured the Redshirts against Chinese Connection. The Redshirts ran past Chinese Connec- tion (108-44). On February 1, Bump in The Paint matched up against the Rednecks. Bump in The Paint won (87-81). The second game was Team Undai and the Redshirts. The Redshirts took a decisive (74-50) win. On February 6, Bump in The Paint played the Redshirts in a rematch game, and the Redshirts won (96-77). In the second game the Rednecks and Chinese Connection at it one more time. The Rednecks slipped by once again (59-57). On February 8, Bump in The Paint played Chi- nese Connection. Bump in The Paint was victorious (75-68). In the second game, Team Undai played against the Rednecks. Team Undai won by the score of (62-45). On February 13, first round of the playoffs, Bump in The Paint played against the Rednecks. With Bump in The Paint winning by 29 points, (96- 67). In the second game was Team Undai and Chi- nese Connection, but Team Undai won by forfeit. On February 15, sec- ond round of the playoffs, the Redshirts played Team Undai to see who would face Bump in The Paint in the championship game. The Redshirts were victo- dous (93-51). It will be the Redshirts versus Bump in The Paint in the champi- onship game.
