October 28, 1987 --- Intramural Outlook Intramural sports is underway this year at Alpena Community College and has many activities plannned for this year. Flag football began this year with six teams participating. All games are held on the intramural (LM.) field located behind VLH on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:00pm and on Tuesdays and Thursdays at both 4:_00 and 5:00pm. · Coming up is volleyball. Team registrations can be picked up in room 100 VLH, rosters are due November 6. Six players on a team, a team may have more than six signed up, but only six can play. Open gym and weight room is going on at East Campus Monday . through Thursday. The gym is open from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. and the weight room is open from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. This is for ACC students only. Mr. Miles is head of intramural sports and can be located at East Campus or at extension 248 if you have any questions. All information goes through the Sp! inter. ACC's daily newsletter. The tournament was played in Traverse City at Northwestern Jr. Community College. The ACC All Star team was I =_ ;:,--se...._ ected f om the intramural ~ softbfillteams. The winning team included: ," Ken Anderson, Art Derry, Brian Egelski, John Grulke, Steve Haggert, Doug Mishley, Tim Bill Beach Dolores Howard Nunneley, Greg Turgeon, Norm Sommerfield, Larry Phillip, and advised by Mr. Miles. ACC was placed in the losers bracket being beaten by the host of the tournament, Northwestern Jr. Community College. The Alpena All Star team turned the tournament around by coming out of the losers bracket and then beating Northwestern.
