Suceeding _ Dr. Charles Donnelly will be Dr. Donald L. Newport, 46, current president of Oklahoma City Community College. Williams a WORKSHOP ON . A workshop was held on December 3 by the AHS Future Farmers of America. The workshop dealt with Robert's Rules of Order, better known as the Parliamentary Procedures. Students, faculty, an administrative personnel attended the workshop. Dean Williams was in attendance at the workshop. Williams explains, “Robert's Rules of Order is the standard bible for the ways of running formal meetings, dictating such things as who is to be there, how business is introduced, how motions and proposals are presented, and what kind of voting 0 ORDER stated, "The rules are designed to prevent chaos from taking over in emotional — situation.” By using the rules, the majority are sure of having their ~ decisions prevail, and the minority are sure of having a voice in the decision process. © There are agreed-upon ways -to present a topic to the “floor” and only the items on the floor may be discussed at the time. The rules help determine when to meet again, when to adjourn, when to take things up again at a next meeting.
