HOLIDAY Student Senate and Business Club sponsored this year's Christmas Dance. The holiday event was held at the Civic Center on December Il, 1987, and special guest was none other than Santa Claus. The dance had a great turn-out EVENT with approximately 180 attending; one of the best dances throughout the past three years. The Civic Center was decorated with mistle toe hanging everywhere. The dance was a great way for both students and faculty to take a break from all the hard work. ACC Remembers Homecoming Looking back on our 1987-88 school year we remember a very important date. January 23, which we remember was the day candidates from the Concrete Club, Kim Kowalski and her escort (husband) Jeff Kowalski were crowned Homecoming queen and ing. Leading up to the day, we had spirit week in which students dressed up for sunglasses and sweats day, fifties day, Hawaiian day, jersey day, and burgundy and gray day. The theme song was "You Look Wonderful" by Eric Approximately 275 people attended the dance in which Rex Sound Effects provided the music. The Jacks dropped an 83-65 decision to Henry Ford in contrast to the Lady Jacks winning 68-62. SUCCESSFUL TEN Dr. Charles R. Donnelly, former President of ACC, retired in January after ten years of service. At his final meeting with the ACC Board of Trustees, Donnelly teceived the title President Emeritus. Also in honor of Dr. Donnelly, the Natural Resource Center was renamed the Charles R. Donnelly Natural Resource Center. eS Office Secretaries This past Pre-Halloween day, the ACC campus was filled with some very unusual sights as students dressed up in their halloween costumes to attend classes. If you happened by the BTC office on this day, the sights were YEARS During his ten years as President, Donnelly's major accomplishment was to separate ACC from the K-12 grades. He also helped to establish ACC's endowment fun Dr. Donnelly plans on returning to Alpena to visit friends and see how the college is expanding to meet future goals. "I will always have a strong interest in ACC." Donnelly stated. Photos were presented in the October issue proving that Pre-halloween day was a day filled pretty humorous as the secretaries joined in on the fun. They completed their daily activities while in costume. with fun and lots of success.
