Description
August 2016 James Rasche began playing guitar at the age of 14 and performed in the local Alcona music scene. In this interview, James talks about some of his early years playing at the Mountain Inn, Slanty Shanty, and Rainbow Lounge, as well as many local festivals, dances, and parties in the bands Northern Lights and Whiskey Bent. James started writing music as a teenager and built his own studio. In 2001, James released a CD called Class Reunion with fellow musician, Greg Leslie, which was written up in Jam Rag, a publication out of Detroit. In addition to being a musician, James was a local barber who shared his passion for music with all who knew him. James passed away on May 14, 2017, leaving a rich, musical legacy behind.
