Wav And she ... laid him in a manger, because there was ' no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:7 I shall never forget an experience had some years ago trying to find a mo- tel for my family. It was getting late, the children were tired and fidgety, and every- one was ready for a good night's sleep. As we drove along the highway, we found no room available. Time and again our hopes were dashed by the flashing of NO VACANCY signs. How much worse it must have been for .Joseph and Mary when they arrived in Bethlehem long ago and learned that the hotel was full. It was bad enough to have made the difficult journey from Naz_areth, for they had to travel the en- tire distance by donkey. (In those days they had no comfortable automobiles with "torsion-bar suspension" and "coil ~rings.") I can imagine Joseph pleading with the manager, telling him of Mary's condition and their need for a suitable place where she could give birth to her child. But there was "no room for them in the inn." Today, a similar situation is being repeated in the lives of many people. Patiently Jesus pleads, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock; if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Rev. 3:20). But the "no va- cancy" sign of self-will is prominently displayed by thousands who have closed their hearts to the Savior. How He longs for all who have been turning Him away to replace the words NO ROOM AVAIL- ABLE with an inviting WELCOME.! 0 On that memorable night almost 2000 years ago, there was no place for Jesus in the inn. May it not be said of you today, dear friend, that there is no room in your heart for Christ! Let Him come in right now! ---R.W.D. Have you any room for Jesus, He who bore your load of sin? As He knocks and asks admission, My _ friend, will you let Him in? ---Williams THOT: If you have no room for Jesus in your HEART . now, there'll be no room in HEAVEN for you later! ---R.W.D. tttttttttttttttttttttttttttt BEHIND THE SCENE§ S.A.O. Calender Many students need help in their classes; well; now there are over 50 fel- low students willing to help you get through! Who are they? Tutors! Who can help in fields from Physical Science to Forrestry, Math to Law Enforcement, and Business to Fisheries? Take a guess! Being against specialization could be what is behind Paul Lance's capability to tutor in eleven differenc subjects. With his major in Philosophy and minor in History Paul's plans are to complete his education with two years of seminary work . He is on the Dean's I ist with 4.0 grade point average Paul is presently tutoring a student in Political Science, Math and Biology. His decision to tutor was prompted because of his eagerness to reinforce his own learning, while also getting to know other people in a meaningful way. Paul feels that the tutoring program is effective for those who sign up for it, but that there should be something for the student who "only needs temporary help without signing for a permanent obliga- tion ." A tutor's job to Paul simply means to cut th rough the professional jargon and proceed to translate to the student "an easier way." □□□□□□□□□□ Someday when a police car pulls you over, it might just be a surprise to see Kur Van Sporting Good's Guns Compass Boots . For Sarah Paad, another student who has signed up to be a tutor, is majoring in law enforcement and hopes to be a po- lice woman. Sarah has signed up to tutor in Poli- tical Science, English 111, Introduction in Law Enforcement, Criminal Investiga- tion, and Juvenile Delinquency. So far, though, she has only tutored in Political Science, but enjoys this subject very much . As a tutor, Sarah is well prepared . Three or four students had asked if they could borrow her notes, and thus, it prompted her to sign up in the .tutorial program, for she has kept her notes from previous classes to use in the classes she has signed up to tutor. In the area of spare time, Sarah luckily has lots for tutoring. She has night classes Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; regular classes during the day; but holds no out- side job, and so therefore, can find time for tutoring. She feels tutoring is a good idea and that one big advantage in tutoring is the chance one gets to study on a one to one basis. The only problem of any kind that Sarah has run into is that of trying to work out suitable hours in which each can get together. Concerts of the Past .......... "Who Killed J.F.K."
