The pos- sibility exists. But only in the movies could someone be re- incarnated as a snowman. That's what Michael Keaton does in the holiday tearjearker, "Jack Frost." Keaton, looking younger than ever, plays Jack Frost, a musician and loving husband and father. His wife, Gaddie (Kelly Preston), and son, Charlie ( Joshua Cross), wish he would spend more time at home and less on the road with his band. Jack promises to spend Christmas with them at their cabin. But at the. last minute, he has to go sign a major record deal. Deciding that family is more important, he turns around and heads for the cabin. Unfortunately, snowy Colo- rado looks much like Alpena did three years ago. His car goes off a cliff and he is sent to the winter wonderland in the sky. A year later he returns as a "frozen freak of nature" and . ' the story takes off from there. The adventures of Charlie and "the snow drift with arms" will have you roJJing in your seat. Humor only begins to de- scribe the way Jack taunts Coach Gronis, played by rock god Henry Rollins. Avoid the temptation to stop watching the. inovie be- cause of its highly predictable plot and stayed tuned for the ·kind of humor that only Keaton can provide. This is definitely a feel good movie that you'll want to watch with friends or relatives. But bring the Kleenex; you're going to need it. .t:hristmas 6.ifts for the Who\e f ami\1 c.an be found at f\/:,l--'s flool'store SCU'\.t'etJ i,ewey h.«,ve,_bee,w very bt½y-ne-w ~ cu,-e, curw~ iw.11.:)I for e-\leryo-ne-ow yo«r 114,:t// l4freshments ~ free G.ift Wrapping during Gsa\s' '5hopping Night - Det:.ember vth, 4-1 p.m. G.u1s· ~hopping Night - Dec.ember 1 th, 4-~ p.m* e,u~ One \tern of C.\ot\iing ~ G.et the· '-nd for.½ prit:.e */2 -pri,ce, wCU, be, cm, the, le,c,,i,t; ey:peN,{J,e, itlmv) *It's,, not"tc>o- late,t;o- fal, o«t" your Vuw S~ I'Vl!/ooe.t11Very ~'1.4tt/ Yau, could, w i+-v ev $ 2 5 G {ft Ce.+'t"'t:flca;ter-· - Dating Gallles: ????????????????????? . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Some unfortunately didn't have an answer, but she would really enjoy getting more from you. Lumberjack's question this month is: "Can you find me a date for Friday?" You could also have a friend set you up with someone. A personal ad isn't a bad idea if you' re really desperate. Lumberjack would also like to remind you that she is not a dating service.. One final note, anyone pathetic enough to put this question in Lumberjack~s box doesn't deserve a date for Friday. First of all, you need to just ask someon~ ! If you're too afraid to ask, write the person a note, call them or have a friend ask for you. (Even if that is a high schoolish!) . The worst they can say is no and then you find someone new to ask. Actors turn in four-star show for ACC Player's· "Wait Until Dark" By: Heidi Skuse Co-Editor and Sports Editor The ACC Players gave an excellent rendition of Fredrick Knott's play "Wait Until Dark." In the play, Susy Hendrix's husband Sam takes a trip to Canada and meets a woman named Lisa there. Lisa asks Sam .to bring back a musical doll and take it to a sick child in the hospital. Sam agrees and brings it home, not knowing that the doll contains heroin. He also doesn't know that_Lisa is tangled up with villian Harry Roat Junior, who sometimes disguises himself as Harry Roat Senior. Roat will stop at noth- ing to get the child's doll. Susy Hendrix, although blind, is extremely sensitive to her other four senses. Susy was played by Jennifer Lefleur who isn't blind, but one wouldn't have known that if one didn't personally know Lefleur. Her eyes never wan- dered to give away that she could see. She outsmarted the three thieves and still kept the child's doll and lived. Mike Talman, played by Jacob Nel,son, is a witty, funny, thief whose job i~ to get the doll from Susy. Nelson delivered the Jines right back at the other charac- ters like they were his own words, not the script written by Knott. Mike is a poor villian because at the end he tells Susy parts of the truth. He only teJJs her parts of the truth so he can be sure he won't get caught. Harry Roat, played by · Mark Breckenridge, is the brains of the whole operation. He is a smart talkin', wise crackin' thief, the link between Talman and another thief Sargent Carlino played by Nason Werth. The three· thieves want the doll to sell tlie heroin. Talman and Carlino were Lisa's former partners in crime. Roat kills Lisa after she revealed her partner 's : schemes. · This play was definitely four stars. The fast paced ac: tion and twists "in the plot kept this reviewer anticipating what was coming next. ,It even had this reviewer seeing it twice. ilLSSU REGISTER NOW . for Lake Superior State University Spring Semester All classes held at ..&, Alpena Community College IA7ftE NA CO►l}UJ;l;IT\ l"OI.LEC E Gasses begin January 10 Call Kelly Smith at 517-356-9021, ext. 302 LOOKING FOR GREAT FOOD ...
