Holliday, a 1985 Arthur Hill High School graduate, came to ACC after muc:h discussion with his teammate, Luther Harrell, also from Saginaw Arthur Hill. Holliday is - enrolled in law enforcement and hopes to become a parole officer. Holliday would like to attend Western University after leaving ACC. He also wants to continue playing basketball but not to "'cjrcle my life around it, you never . know what might hap- pen." · Holliday gives much of th~ credit for his high score to his teammates, "Terry [Green] , Luther[Harrell], and I play so well together it seems like we've been playing togfther for life, and Coach Van Dyke is the best coach .I've ever had." There is "intense playing, much peer pressure, and con- structive criticism" between Jimmie, Terry, and Luther. As for the rest of the team, Hol- liday says, "I think we're the best. team in · the conference. We're really getting it together - teamwork." He continued to say, "we have confidence in each other. " 1 He believes "you have to play with the attitude 'I'm No. I' and want to stay there." He likes practice. "Practice doesn't seem like practice - hard work, but more like fun." Holliday · also likes to bowl arid play video .games. Gallig1J. and Burger Time are two of his favorites. But he says he's "going to concentrate on studies this semester." Coach ·Van Dyke has set a goal of l 0 wins and 5 losses for the last 15 games of the season, but "we want 15 and 0," according to Holliday. The Lumberjacks kept a 10-14 point lead until late in the last period when · Schoolcraft looked like they were going to tie and poss.ibly take the lead. The Ocelots couldn 1t pick up the three points though with 2 minutes left. · Leading scorers for Alpena were Willie Grey .with 23 points and Ken Fitzek with 22. Lady-' Jacks lose 70-52 The women's haskethall team pretty m~ch as expected last Satur- day night - they lossed, again. The loss was ACC's fifth in the last 6 games, making them 5-9 for the season and 1-6 in conference play. The game was never close. Poor passing by Alpena players led to steals hy Schoolcraft, who then easily perforated Alpena's defense to score.
