The Lumberjack Editorial Page 6 ProudT 0Se/\n1erican! STEPH NEHRING News Editor America! When someone shouts this powerful word, how do you define it? Are you thrown back by it, or are you proud of it? I will tell you one thing though: I will wave our flag up high and say "I am an a American and always will be!" I was born in the USA, raised here, and I will die here. Ever since I was little, America was a symbol of freedom and my home like no other. My parents are true Americans their oarents are true Americans, and my ancestors were true Americans. My family like many others, take so much pride living in this country. Its amazing to see everyone come together and become one, the way Americans should be. Then one Tuesday morning, some cold-hearted, no soul, inhuman beings put sorrow into the American lives. Reality and promise kicked us all in the ass and made us stronger. We will never forget those who died in this horrible act, the ones who were and still are heroes, and their · families. Even though a lot ofus didn't know who these people were, we feel closer to them now and will never forget their smiles and acts ofbravery. When I hear somebody saying hateful things about this country, it makes me angry. This is a land for the free and should be looked upon as a nation of RYAN SPAULDING Fearture Co-Entertainment Editor Well hello there everyone. Whazz Up? With everything happening in the world nowadays, I couldn't decide what to do my editorial on. I ponde~ed it for a while and came to the conclusion that I didn't want to do a conventional editorial. Since an editorial is supposed to be about anything that the writer is thinking about and since I've been thinking about so many different things lately, I've decided to allow you to read what-has been brewing in this sick and twisted world I like to call my brain. I'm not doing this to make anyone angry or to change anyone's opinions on any said topic. I just want o make people think and possibly see a whole new perspective on some things. You may laugh, you may get upset, which is good because at least then I know it served it's purpose. Now I want you to know that I don't know everything and I don't want people to take this all that seriously, but please read it and open your mind. Only then can you see what I see, and thus open new ways of thinking for yourself. Read, enjoy, and think, that's all I ask. What's with everything being "Xtreme" nowadays? And that's another thing, it's "Extreme" not "Xtreme." Learn how to spell! It's bad enough many people don't know how to read; we don't need advertising messing us up on top of ii. I've come to the conclusion that we 're letting too many dumb people live. If when people die they go to either Heaven or Hell, then I wonder where the angels and demons go when they die? You go out and buy a new car, something very nice. As you pull out of the lot you are suddenly side swiped by your ·old car, almost like the car was getting revenge at you for selling it. Funnyhuh? I think being a coma patient would be such a sweet deal. Think about it. All you do all day is lay in bed, have people wait on you hand and foot, bathing you, feeding you. Your family starts paying more attention to you and you don't even have to do anything! No responsibilities or worries. Yes sir I think when I go on a much-needed vacation, I'll go into a coma. Nothing else sounds more relaxing. There that wasn't so bad was it? I think this was a good experience for a lot of people. For those of you who did read this I would like you to share it with others, just so they can start thinking in some odd new level. Hopefully if this goes over well, I'll be back with more to say.
