HOMECOMING--GAME AND HALFTIME ACTIVITIES "It's tough playing with seven guys," commented Lumberjacks coach Jim Barbera. The jacks came within just three points of breaking Henry Ford's lead at half-time. If the hyper Alpena crowd thought the 37-40 half-time score would end on a more promising note, they should have thought twice. With two of Alpena’s top players out on suspension for missing practice, the Jacks fared well the first half but lost pace the second half. Steve Smith scored t sacicnnorrsone — 21 points to lead the Jacks, while Marcus Burrell added 14. The Jacks dropped the homecoming game 83-65. The Lady Lumberjacks played a tight game and overcame odds to beat Henry Ford 68-62. The Lady Jacks played well in front of the packed East Campus gym. Alpena kept a small 38-34 margin over the Fords going into the second half, but Ford caught up to make it an even 59-59 at 36. Ford made one basket and free throw to end their scoring, while othe Jacks kept the pressure on to finis ‘with 68-82. Sees The Homecoming win upped their overall record to 11-6. A special thanks to Dr. Donnelly and Robin Jones for helping to crown ACC's new Homecoming Queen.
