    Excelsior is wood shavings used as packing material.

    The Churchill Lumber Company mill was located at the mouth of the Thunder Bay River. They also had store, wagon shop, and coal yard.

    The sorting gap was where logs were sorted according to owner by reading the mark on the end of each log.
